You Can Have My Husband (But Please, Don't Mess With My Man)

from You Can Have My Husband (Single, 2015) by Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt

about

Lou Ann Barton has always been a long time favorite to Sara and Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of the main men for Ramblin Matt (although as he acknowledges, is much more humble in his skills than the Texas Tornado)

This track was originally included in the lost album that Lou Ann Barton and Little Stevie recorded in Austin in the end of the 70s and we rescued it for our live shows.

This track was recorded at The Sistemines rehearsal room playing live with only acoustic instruments and using a Stereo ZOOM Pocket Recorder.

lyrics

You can have my husband
But please don't mess with my man
You can have my husband
But please don't mess with my man
I'm telling all you women
I want you all to understand

Now, when I was with my husband he was really mean
But when I'm with my man he treats me like a queen

You can have my husband
But please don't mess with my man
I'm telling all you women
I want you all to understand

Now the money my husband made was for red beans and rice
My man gives me steaks, now ain't that nice?

You can have my husband
But please don't mess with my man
I'm telling all you women
I want you all to understand

the money my husband made was for red beans and rice
My man keeps me in steaks, now ain't that nice?

You can have my husband
But please don't mess with my man
I'm telling all you women
I want you all to understand

Yes. . . he's mine
Don't mess with him
Leave him alone!
