When I was just a girl I heard many people say A woman needs a man by her side But now that I´ve grown up, I know that was a lie And I don´t need no man to break me down Well, a woman needs a friend who can love her and help her on the way Well a woman, needs someone who can share with her the stars and make her laugh. You are going to try, to find the perfect guy Who can always call you "my sweetheart" Then you will hang around, and you´ll go up and down And come back home with empty and broken heart Well, a woman needs a friend who can love her and help her on the way Well a woman, needs someone who can share with her the stars and make her laugh. But now I´ve found someone, his name´s Ramblin Matt He´s not very smart but treats me right And I just realized that in a woman´s life There´s no place for lies and cheatin´hearts Well, a woman needs a friend who can love her and help her on the way Well a woman, needs someone who can share with her the stars and make her laugh.

I remember all those nights waiting for you to come back And I know how much it hurt when no one even said your name Still I know I´ll wait for you to come one day and ease my pain To say "hi babe, I´m doing good", to show at least that you just care I forgot how much it hurt, to live your dream as a nightmare To change your pink dreams into blues, to be in love with what you hate Still I know I´ll wait for you to come one day and ease my pain To say "hi babe, I´m doing good", to show at least that you just care Now I can only sing my song, and pray the Lord to set me free And ask the Devil, if you are there, to make in hell a place for me

All you want to do is sit around and pout And now I got enough and so I'm getting out I'm leaving now I'm leaving now I'm a long gone mommy I don't need you anyhow I been in the doghouse so doggone long That when I get a kiss I think that something's wrong (chorus) I'll go find a man that wants to treat me right You go get yourself a gal that wants to fight (chorus) You start your jaws a-wagging and it never stop You never shut your mouth until I blow my top (chorus) I remember back when you were nice and sweet Things have changed, you'd rather fight than eat (chorus) I'm a-gonna do some riding on the midnight train I'm taking everything except my ball and chain (chorus)

Since you been gone I've had time to myself Haven't even tried to find somebody else When you told me you were leavin' it almost came as good news It may sound funny but it's true I think I'm better off with the blues Now I must admit that I miss you sometimes Not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind But at the same time I think of all the hell you put me through Yeah, it's the lesser of two evils I think I'm better off with the blues I know some day I'll wake up and this blues will be gone I'll forget about you and how everything went wrong But if you hadda stayed I'd be dead in my tracks Now, I still love you, baby, but I don't want you back Tonight I'm gonna go down to the sad side of town Listen to 'em play the blues when the sun goes down And I know just what to say when someone asks about you I'll say, yeah, we had our good times But I think I'm better off with the blues Yeah, if I had to say, I say I'm better off with the blues

If you´re lonely, and you don´t know what to do Don´t try to find her, I´m in front of you If you´re sad, there´s no place to hide yourself Knock on my door, I´ll be there for you Before she was your way to escape She could ease your loneliness But now you know, there´s another way I´m the girl with the heroin dress My boots are ready, my sword is sharp My shield is shining like the morning light Your wild horse would start to drive on To places that you´ve never seen before Before she was your way to escape She could ease your loneliness But now you know, there´s another way I´m the girl with the heroin dress

The news is out - all over town That you've been seen - a-runnin' 'round I know that I - should leave, but then I just can't go - you win again. This heart of mine - could never see What ev'rybod - y knew but me Just trusting you - was my great sin What can I do - you win again. I'm sorry for - your victim now 'Cause soon his head - like mine will bow He'll give his heart - but all in vain And someday say - you win again. You have no heart - you have no shame You take true love - and give the blame I guess that I - should not complain I love you still - you win again.

There are times in the life of a man When things get very hard to understand When love turns into sorrow and joy turns to pain And all you got is the sweet morning rain Morning rain come and take away my pain Morning rain dripping down my window frame Like my teardrops keep-a-fallin, like the kisses that I´m blowing To your health, your happiness and grace Like th eknife cuts the butter on a tray Like a lion drives its claws into a prey Like a hammer on red iron, like a child´s hand on wet clay Please rain on me and wash my blues away Waitress come and sit with me tonight Come and pour me some brown liquor into a dirty glass Come and sing with me way downlow Any old blues or a sad Hank Williams song Morning comes and the wind makes me sway As I´m walking and stumbling on the way Ain´t no use in being mad, ain´t no gain on feeling low So bring it on and let the good times roll Waitress come and sit with me tonight Come and pour me some brown liquor into a dirty glass Come and sing with me way downlow Any old blues or a sad Hank Williams song

These men that I've been seeing, baby Got their soul up on the shelf You know they could never love me When they can't even love themselves But I need someone to love me Someone to really understand Who won't put himself above Who just loves me like a man I've never seen such losers, Darlin' Even though I tried To find a man who could take me home Stead of takin' me for a ride And I need someone to love me I know you can Believe me when I tell you You can love me like a man They all want me to rock them Like my back ain't got no bone I want a man to rock me Like my back bone was his own Darlin', I know you can Believe me when I tell you You can love me like a man I come home sad and lonely Feel like I wanna cry I want a man to hold me Not some fool to ask me why I know you can Don't you put yourself above me You just love me like a man

I got up one morning here in London town, got my suitcase ready, got my old guitar And a plane to catch to sunny Spain, to the Mediterranean and to my friends A couple of gigs to play and nothing to care There was a jam session down in Peter Rock and my good mate Danny told me, come along! and I said to myself why not? I´ll see you later on I was feeling good but a bit insecure so I got ob my pink tie and my rock and roll clothes, and I said to myself, here we go to conquer the world! But what I didn´t know, cause it wasn´t in the script it was the girl with the sunshine in her eyes, wearing a red dress and she could sing the Blues like Bessie Smith, and she got something in her eyes that made her free. Over went the gig, we sat down and talked, we had a few hard drinks and we went home...each on our own. But then at home no fucking way to sleep with her sweet face popping in and out of my dreams, so I decided to ask her out, and come to my gig It was Sunday evening, ten minutes to start and here she comes walking, shining like a star and she sang a song with me and she stole my heart. And then some of our best friends took us in their car and they took us a picture dropped us at the bar and we drank nothing but water and talk until dawn. And then she took me home and it wasn´t in the script, she was the girl with the sunshine in her eyes, and she spread her wings all around my arms and she slept with me with her head in my heart, and all her sunshine came shining down on me. And the morning came and we had a fling, and I had a plane to catch and the time on a string so it was a goodbye kiss and a taxi for me. Heading for the airport with pain in my pants and the taste of her lips I was surely missing her smell and the sun in her eyes But what I didn´t know, cause it wasn´t in the script it was the girl with the sunshine in her eyes, wearing a red dress and she could sing the Blues like Bessie Smith, and she gave me love and she set me free. And she shared with me the sunshine in her eyes

HYENNA'S SMILE Music and Lyrics by Sara & Matt Once my daddy told me, girl you better just take care with the ones you meet, people use to lie, they're not what they say so you better be smart and don't show your real face. Always bring your smile, also if you feel sad and don't let no one know the reason of your pain, because once they know they'll use it as a bomb, for when you feel good and they do not. But I never learnt to wear a phony face, trying to show up like everything's ok because when I feel bad I can cry and cry and let the ones I love, take care of my heart.

about

Our first album featuring our first compositions together and some hot covers of Hank Williams Sr, Delbert McClinton and Bonnie Raitt. We love Country and Western, Delta Blues, Southern Rock, Bluegrass, Boogie Woogie and in general rootsy American music. We of course have our share of Spanish soul that goes into the music. We reside in sunny Valencia, bathed by the Mediterranean Sea that gives us our identity.

We really hope that you will enjoy listening to our music as we do making it.

SARA GEE is a Spanish singer, composer and also finished a degree in Drama and Art. She started to play guitar and write songs in the years that she resided in the paradise island of Formentera, inspired and tought by her mentor Erik Doornweerd, a fine, talented musician that has been a main part of the music scene there since his arrival as a young hippie in the 60s.

MATEO "RAMBLIN MATT" GARCIA also Spanish, singer and guitar player, started playing in Rockabilly bands in the early 80s, such as Dalton Brothers and Ruzafa´s Incorregibles. He moved for 6 years to the US during which he lived in Chicago for three years and made two trips to Mississippi backpack and guitar in hand, meeting and sharing music with local players. Formed Blackmailers along his old time friend Silver Borras when he returned to Spain in 1998 until 2000. In 2006 after 2 years spent as a Bar manager in Zanzibar Island he decide to move to London, England where he studied a 3 year degree in Music Theory, Harmony and Composition at CityLit College. There he stayed until he moved back to Valencia and met Sara in June 2013, playing extensively through the UK with his vintage Rockabilly trio, Los Jailbreakers, as a solitary act or with The Ramblin Matt Trio.
